Your Brain: The Final Frontier

Discovering the obvious and beating it like a dead horse.

Now What?

November 6, 2020. As I write this, officials in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Arizona are slowly going through the last ballots in their states in order to come up with the final tally for the 2020 Election which ended on November 3rd (or thereabouts, approximately, give or take…).

It is obvious that Biden is soon to be declared the winner. Even though I believe he will be an awful President, and a brief one (I suspect certain members of his own party have plans for his early retirement due to dementia or Alzheimers), it will still be several more weeks before we know this for sure. This is because it appears that there were a lot of irregularities in this year’s election.

Because of these irregularities, numerous lawsuits have been filed. If the Plaintiffs can prove fraud, there may be enough invalidated votes to flip some of the states back to Trump. This would include states like Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. If so, Trump may remain in the White House for another four years. But some of the invalidated ballots will be those showing votes for Trump. Therefore, it isn’t like the Court is going to simply subtract 100,000 Biden votes and close the case.

If the Plaintiffs cannot prove fraud, Biden will take residence in the White House in January, and he will immediately reverse numerous pro-life and pro-American orders the Trump administration put in place over the last four years.

I wonder if 2020 is merely a warm up for each year to come. Now that is a scary thought, right?

As soon as Biden is sworn in (whether he’ll use a Bible or On The Origin Of Species, we’ll have to wait to see), the U.S. will start dumping money we don’t have. As our debt increases, our tax money will go into the United Nations, the Paris Climate Agreement, and numerous other international mechanisms to fund globalism and the eventual destruction of the United States and other independent countries. He’ll also rescind the Mexico City policy, which means the U.S. will once again begin funding abortion internationally.

The federal government will grow, the swamp will fill up even more, and our taxes will rise as our liberties shrink.

Once the presidential pen signs these financial calamities into existence, we will begin receiving a daily recitation of the President’s allegiance to the LGBT, Islam, abortion, and all the other Marxist demolition tools and techniques. Basically think back on the 8-year assault on the United States led by the Democratic Party under Barack Obama, then add 110% to the intensity. That will be the Biden/Harris administration.

Then there will be the economic disaster. I am less certain how this will play out. Instead of collapse, it may simply be a slow slide into an Obama-style economic depression in which socialist efforts to de-privatize various industries takes a priority. I am uncertain of total collapse, because a total shutdown out of fear of the Covid Virus would likely bring both sides of the political spectrum closer together. Left and right could find a common cause in protesting a state imposed shutdown which cripples the economy, closes the few remaining small businesses, and seems even more like martial law than various mayors who have forced everyone in their mini-kingdoms to wear masks and cancel their Thanksgiving meal with grandma and grandpa. Human nature is such that even liberal progressives need community. Marching around chanting Marxist slogans and hateful rhymes can fill that need for community for a few weeks, but eventually, even fascists need to take off their gas mask and black hoodie, take a shower, and put down their marijuana pipe in order to catch a breath. Though I could be wrong…

Where is the hope in all of this?

Do not put your trust in princes,
    in mortals, in whom there is no help.
When their breath departs, they return to the earth;
    on that very day their plans perish.

Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord their God,

who made heaven and earth,
    the sea, and all that is in them;
who keeps faith forever; (Psalm 146:3-6)

Scripture tells us here and throughout the rest of the Bible and the history of Christianity, that our true hope is not in our fellow man. Our hope is in Christ and in our fellow man only to the degree that Christ is in our fellow man.

One can hope that any fraud is discovered and corrected through the legal system. And if not, one can hope in the balance of powers designed by Jefferson, Hamilton, and our other founding fathers. One can hope that the U.S. Supreme Court is truly no longer biased against conservative ideals and the original intent of the Constitution. One can hope that individual States will be able to withstand efforts to institute socialism and anarchy. One can hope that we will retain our liberty as individuals in a Democratic Republic.

However, if your hope is that this is done through politics, secular resources, or by your own will, your hope is in vain. Now, more than at any point in your life, it is time to turn to the Lord.

Regardless of what happens in the coming years, eternity awaits. It is no use to worry about tomorrow’s problems.

So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today. (Matt 6:34)

Take it all to Jesus each morning and throughout each day. And know that if you are called to account for your faith at some point in the future, it is the greatest honor any Christian can be given, even if it ends very poorly for you.

“See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of them, for they will hand you over to councils and flog you in their synagogues; and you will be dragged before governors and kings because of me, as a testimony to them and the Gentiles. When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” (Matt 10:16-20)

However, the only way to answer this call, is to prepare for it. Open your heart, your mind and your Bible. Receive the sacraments, pray, live with charity… And don’t worry.
