China Loosens Its “One Child” Policy: Please Hold Your Applause Until The End Of The Program

China looked around and realized that its “One Child” restriction was not only unpopular, it was based on an “overpopulation” myth and it was eliminating women from existence within China. The Oracle of Omaha should look around too.

When left to God’s design, there are about 105 male babies born for every 100 female births. But once China bought into the “overpopulation” myth (mindlessly accepted by Warren Buffett, Bill & Malinda Gates, The National Abortion Federation, Planned Parenthood, the United Nations and other progressives), they realized they had created a serious cultural and physical problem in China. The Chinese place a high value on male children. In fact, it is considered shameful when a married couple either has no children or they have only a daughter. It is also considered bad business, since much of China depends on their agricultural sector which depends on young male labor to handle the work. At the same time, many Chinese parents are aware of the higher financial cost of raising a female child.

This resulted in an explosion of sex-selective abortions. Pregnant mothers, concerned about image, financial matters and other cultural factors, aborted their first and sometimes subsequent female babies, until they became pregnant with a boy. Mothers who declined to abort their daughter were stuck with that decision unless they were allowed an exemption from the “one child” policy and given a chance to try for a boy. Again, sex-selection abortion was common when such mothers became pregnant with their second daughter. Many were not allowed the governmental exception which authorized a 2nd child. Many women who were denied the exception conceived anyway and were forced to undergo involuntary abortions. Martyrs for a myth called overpopulation.

In some regions of China within the past 10 years, there were 140 male births to every 100 female births.

The “one child” policy turned 35 years old this year. 8.7 million human beings who were conceived in China will not turn 35 next year. That is the number of abortions in China in 1981. Abortion was already prevalent in China in 1980, so many children would have been killed with or without the “one child” policy, but the fact reamains: 8.7 million Chinese human beings are not here today because of abortion.

A generation of sex-selective abortions has taken its toll on China and the world. We will probably never hear about many of the problems, but one we do know about is human trafficking. According the 2011 U.S. Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report:

Experts and NGOs report that China’s population planning policies, coupled with a cultural preference for sons, creates a skewed sex ratio in China, which may contribute to the trafficking of women and children from within China and from Mongolia, North Korea, Russia, Burma, Laos, and Vietnam for forced marriage.

According to the same U.S. Dept. of State report as well as a 2010 U.S. Dept. of State Human Rights Report:

There continue to be reports that Chinese children are forced into prostitution, and various forms of forced labor, including begging, stealing, and work in brick kilns and factories. There are also reports of forced child labor in cotton-picking in Xinjiang province at the hands of local authorities and in flower selling. Children kidnapped internally, are predominantly boys sold to couples unable to have children.

Finally, according to a report by UNIAP titled The Human Trafficking Situation in China:

The shortage of marriageable women has fueled the demand for the trafficking of women for forced marriages.

Meddling with God’s plan has innumerable unanticipated effects. Warren Buffett owes the world an apology. He also needs to fund every Pro-Life measure known to man in order to prove his sincerity. Has the world’s wealthiest man funded millions of abortions over the past 20 years due to his concern for women, his concern for the earth’s sustainability or in an effort to sculpt civilization a little closer to his preferred form? He’s a smart guy, surrounded by smart people. Therefore, I don’t think he has bought into myths about abortion being a harmless part of women’s healthcare. I also don’t think he has bought into the “overpopulation myth”. Is he evil? I haven’t a clue. All I know is that China has experimented with human lives for 25 years and has concluded that their meddling has caused serious problems. It would be nice if Warren, Bill & Malinda Gates, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and thousands of other powerful people would admit their errors as well.

Is a woman’s right to kill her unborn child the key to her freedom? Is it the essential ingredient to equality with men? Do we need to forcibly limit the number of children born into the world in order to protect everyone else from starvation, disease and overcrowding? No is the correct answer to all 3 of these questions.

Billions of lives have been torn apart as good people sat quietly and failed to bring reason into the discussion. Truth prevails, and China is now being forced to admit the truth, but too few have spoken up in the meantime, delaying that realization. The truth is:

  1. If every human being on the face of the planet met within the borders of Texas, each person would occupy a little over 1,000 square feet of real estate. Here’s the math: The latest figures I could find suggest that approximately 7,268,730,000 people currently live on mother earth. The landmass of Texas is 268,820 square miles (7,494,271,488,000 square feet). By dividing 7,494,271,488,000 square feet by 7,268,730,000 people, you come up with 1031 square feet per person. And you thought traffic was bad already? But the point is, compared to the landmass of the rest of the earth, Texas is a dot. Mr Buffett: There is no overpopulation problem. The problem is an unfair distribution of wealth, resources and opportunity. Now can you remind me where you were on the list of the world’s wealthiest people last year? Spend your charitable giving wisely Mr. Buffett. The IRS doesn’t care, but God does.
  2. Over 95% of abortions in the U.S. are performed for reasons other than serious health risks to the mother or due to conception from rape or incest. See: The Guttmacher Abortion Statistics from their 2005 report on why U.S. women have abortions. I should point out that there is no good reason for abortion and there are morally acceptable ways to deal with the health risks to mother and child as well as the cases of rape and incest, but President Obama and the others don’t care about any of this. They want abortion to be cheap, safe and readily available.
  3. Your tax dollars are not only funding Planned Parenthood (who recently announced they they will no longer sell the dead baby parts that they previously denied selling), your tax dollars are being pumped into numerous national and international non-governmental agencies (NGO’s) who engage in Ideological Colonization. In a nutshell, ideological colonization occurs when an organization or country offers money, medicine, education or other help, to a struggling country or culture, with strings attached. In this case, the strings are the legalization of abortion, adoption of artificial contraception, acceptance of same-sex marriage and homosexual behavior, adoption of gender ideologies, detachment from religious beliefs, etc… One very small part of this much bigger problem is the U.S. political battle over the governmental funding of Planned Parenthood. For years, Planned Parenthood has successfully lied their way through each and every situation in which they were criticized by anyone from the Pro-Life side of the aisle. But now, due to an undercover video sting by David Daeliden and the Center For Medical Progress, their lies are being exposed and even the media and abortion-loving politicians cannot legitimately deny the fact that Planned Parenthood is a horrid organization in a horrid industry of death, manipulation and victimization. Due to the possibility that the federal funding of Planned Parenthood is about to end, wealthy Americans are dumping large amounts of cash into Planned Parenthood in order to keep them afloat. If Warren Buffett, Bill & Malinda Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Lena Dunham and others want to support abortion, that is their own business. I don’t like it, but I they will change their minds once the federal funding dries up. The rich and powerful are going to either realize that they are killing humans or they are going to decide that there are other more reputable and moral organizations who can use their money for much better ends. The billionaires will stop worrying about the birth rate in the Dominican Republic as soon as they have to fund the majority of the indoctrinization being conducted by NGO’s currently funded by the U.S. government. A large amount of the funding is done through Planned Parenthood, who in turn funnels the money into the NGO’s in the 3rd world countries.
  4. Good people have been silent too long.

So China has relaxed its “One Child” policy, but until the rest of us stop trying to live by our own rules and not the rules of natural law, avoidable tragedies will continue to occur.
